Face-to-Face Counseling
Individual employees and their covered family members can discuss their personal issues with an experienced professional counselor.
The Physician Assistance Professional can help with a variety of issues, including the following:
- marital/relationship issues
- interpersonal difficulties with friends or co-workers
- depression or anxiety
- concerns regarding children and adolescents
- caregiving for elders and others
- stress management
- substance abuse (alcohol and other drugs)
- grief and loss
- difficulties in achieving personal or professional goals
- financial and legal concerns
Provided as a benefit to you and your immediate family members (those that live with you) by your employer, the counseling benefit from your Physician Assistance Program is a short-term, solution-focused service that will assist you in identifying and resolving issues that may be interfering with your job or personal life or are of concern to you. The PAP provides easy access to confidential, professional services at no cost to you.
And our assistance isn't the same as seeking a counselor through your healthcare insurance! We don't diagnose you with a mental disorder if you seek help. Your seeking help won't be part of your healthcare insurance records. We keep minimal notes and do all we can to protect confidentiality as we know how important that is to healthcare professionals in seeking quality care. Your employer wants to remove barriers that healthcare workers often experience in seeking help, so has provided this to you.
We have Physician Assistance Professionals available across each Hawaiian island. For more information, or to set up a time to meet confidentially with one of our trusted providers, give us a call!
